Changes Begin In The Heart

PC 1000 Drug Program

As I was looking through some papers this morning, I came across this reminder today. It's a reminder that brought great joy to my heart, as tears rolled down my face. This December will be 15 years that I've been Sober and I give God ALL Glory and Praise. He's kept me steadfast in His truth, love and protection.

Last night at our Women's Bible study, I shared with the ladies, that there have been times where I think where would I be today, had I not made all the wrong choices that I made?? But I have to tell you... that I thank the Lord even in that because, you see.. my Lord has always had His eyes on me. I know this because He protected me so many times while I was in my sin; I just didn't get it back then. But I see His grace upon me now. I was the one that rejected Him time and time again. And it wasn't until July 2003 that I finally said that's it! I'm done! I made a choice, to stop all the madness. Another beautiful revelation the Lord showed me today was, while July was the month I stopped getting high/drunk.. it's also the month, where the world celebrates the "Freedom" we have in this amazing country; The U.S.A. It's a day where we celebrate liberty. For the Christian, we too, get to celebrate freedom, but the difference is, we get to celebrate it daily. I (we) have freedom in Christ; but not everything that my flesh may desire is good for me. ( 1 Cor 10:23). I need to guard my heart above all else (Pro 4:23), seeking His strength  daily. My life today, desires and thirsts to grow in my Lord, alone.

God is so Good and there is great Power in the Name of Jesus. We really, can do all things through Christ, our Lord; when we stop playing games and surrender our heart completely to Him. He is our Strength, and the tower of refuge we can run to. The thing is, we need to come to a place where we are tired of being tired, there must be evidence of a life pleasing to the Lord, without compromise. A lifestyle that honors Jesus.

God is love, but He is also just. The Bible tells us that He will not be mocked, (Gal 6:7) therefore we cannot live a double life. We are either all in for Jesus or we are not. I think about the days that I spent in this program and the different people that I met, I took some time, to pray for them today in hopes that they never went back to that lifestyle of drugs and alcohol. My Hope and prayer for them is that they would have found the Amazing Grace... Unfailing Love and Eternal Hope that I found in my Jesus. As I was writing this I remembered the beautiful song that says "You can have all this world, just give me Jesus".  Danny Gokey - https://youtu.be/bbh43MGoigw

Jesus is really all we need. When we put the Lord 1st; amazing things begin to happen (Mat 6:33). He has been there with me every single day of my life...in the good times and the bad times. He goes to battle for me and He will go to battle for you!!! Bondage isn't only in drugs and alcohol it's also in emotions of depression, doubt and fear, there's so much that can keep us down, But God is stronger!! And He is Greater!! (1 John 4:4). Whatever you may be going through today, be encouraged to let go, and let God take care of your heart. Spend time in His word, in the company of people who love the Lord and love you enough to speak truth to you. Pray for your husband, children, family members and never stop praying for Gods protection upon their hearts.

Jesus! Jeremiah! And Psalm 8

This morning, I clearly heard the Lord telling me to ask Jeremiah to sit with me and read His word together. We usually have devotions on Thursday night with my husband, but it's my responsibility as their Mommy to also sit with our kids. I confess that I am not consistent. I read. I allow God to pour into me, but how selfish of me, not to include my kids in a more consist way! Well, that changes as of today! And you can keep me accountable. No! Really I challenge you, to challenge me! And don't you just LOVE IT  when God speaks to you and then He totally sends confirmation afterward? The Lord, said... Read a Psalm and because today is July 8th, we read Psalm 8.  v.2 " Out of the mouths of babes and nursing infants, You have ordained strength because of your enemies, that you may silence the enemy and the avenger".  Children (that's us) are able to trust and praise God without doubt or reservations. As we get older, many of us, find this more difficult...
Today was a day filled with many sweet nuggets on "Growth" 2 Peter 3:18 reminds us: "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen" Raise your hand if you want to grow in the knowledge of the Lord! I know I do! If we're not careful, we can get complacent and remain seated on the "comfort zone" couch.  Gods Word is essential  in our lives, and it is how we grow. Jesus loves us and we can grow in His knowledge by diligently committing ourselves to having quiet time with Him, daily. We are His lilies among the thorns of life and He wants to equip us for every trial, challenge and struggle. All our answers are in the Bible, it is our manual to walking hand in hand with Jesus.  Do you know what else is essential in our Christian walks? Sharing His love. When was the last time you told a perfect stranger... "Jesus loves you"? Because if you ...

Thinking Of Heaven

Heaven! James!  And the Introduction!  I was thinking of Heaven today. I was thinking of how exciting it will be when I'm in the presence of my Jesus! I picture myself arriving and hugging my Lord 1st and foremost and immediately asking him to show me where James is. I want to thank him personally for this amazing letter he wrote. The book of James, is mind blowing bold in it's own right. You know how you can read and study a book in the Bible and then you read and study it again and it just speaks to you in a whole new way? Yup! Its like that. James teaches us the right Christian behavior and doesn't sugar coat anything. It doesn't matter what version you try reading this book in, you will feel conviction in your heart if you are humbly honest with yourself. With well chosen words, James reminds us that it's not enough to talk the Christian faith, he says; we must live it (2.14) The proof of the reality of our faith is a changed life. He... Outl...
