Pride kills a slow spiritual death.  At some point in our lives, we've all been prideful. We have made things about: Me. Myself. and I. As a believer, we know, better and still we behave in a prideful manner. Pride was the first sin that entered the universe and the last rooted out. It was through pride that satan became who he is today, {Isaiah 14}. Satan's enmity against God began with " I " and so it is with us. If we are preoccupied with ourselves, we too will fall into the sin of pride.  Pride is deceptive. It’s deceptive because when we have pride, we're usually too proud to admit it. We need to take this sin seriously. Proverbs 16:5 -says, “Everyone proud and arrogant in heart is disgusting, hateful, and exceedingly offensive to the Lord….” Ouch!!!  Pride is an independent, me-oriented spirit. My Papa and Babies Hi Gang! Well, it's been well over six months, since I've blogged. But I was prompted to share a few thoughts with you about honoring our parents, today. In Exodus 20:12, God commands this: "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you" . God exhorts us to honor our father and mother. He values honoring parents enough to include it in the Ten Commandments. Honoring our parents means, we choose to place a great value upon our relationship with them. We make the necessary efforts to stay connected. We sacrifice for their well being. We help them in any way that we can. We forgive, love and honor them. A way to a mans heart is through is stomach 100% truth!  Yesterday my Dad came over for lunch, and as I sat across our kitchen table, watching my Daddy eat one of his favorite meals, my heart was overwhelmed with joy. Today was a day filled with many sweet nuggets on "Growth" 2 Peter 3:18 reminds us: "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen" Raise your hand if you want to grow in the knowledge of the Lord! I know I do! If we're not careful, we can get complacent and remain seated on the "comfort zone" couch.  Gods Word is essential  in our lives, and it is how we grow. Jesus loves us and we can grow in His knowledge by diligently committing ourselves to having quiet time with Him, daily. We are His lilies among the thorns of life and He wants to equip us for every trial, challenge and struggle. Today, I finally got to see the movie, "Unbroken" with my friend, Jo Ann. This movie, touched my heart in a special and profound way. I left the theater wanting to lift up a block of wood, put it over my head and scream from the bottom of my lungs! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!  Here's the thing, we will always face trials, it's part of growing in our faith. And there may be times, you wonder how much longer Lord? But try to find the joy in your trials, because God is in control. I love true story films, especially faith based ones. Such a refreshment to my spirit of who God is. He is, a loving God who forgives, saves, heals, comforts, provides, equips and so many other things. When you may feel like He's not working in your situation, He really is, because He's faithful.
